1. Shoot it well. Very well!
2. Shoot it with a rifle that you shoot well. Very well!
3. Shoot it with a premium hunting bullet.
The best that your rifle shoots well.
4. Shoot it wit the biggest caliber that you shoot very well.
Do not be tempted to go for "overkill" at the expense of good shooting.
A good shot with a mild caliber is much, very much,
better than a poor shot with a canon!

A good hunt is worth whatever you pay for it.
A bad hunt is not worth the time spent on it.

#3 couldn't be more true. I had an SKS years ago and got some surplus ammo
(7.62x39) with it, and I was getting a 1-foot spread at 75 yards with a
scope on a sandbag rest. I switched to brand new Federals and got a 2 inch
spread. Big difference!
